Edit Android applications
Step 1: Make a new folder; named apktool on your desktop.
Step 2: Attach apktool.bat file (Windows wrapper script) to this folder. Right click on the link and save it to the folder.
Step 3: Get the latest version of ApkTool.
Step 4: Move ApkTool to the Apktool folder you have created.
Note that ApkTool is ready after this.
Step 5: Move the apk file of the Android app inside the same folder.
Step 6: Tap shift and right click in the folder to open a command window.
Step 7: Install framework for the app – the one you want to decompile.
apktool if appname.apk
Step 8: Decompile the app with this command.
apktool d appname.apk
Step 9: Edit the app files. You are free to have all app files inside a separate folder in the same folder.
Step 10: Recompile apk file with this command.
apktool b appname
Note: Don’t go to apk at the end
Step 11: You can find your new apk file inside “dist” folder which will be created in the app folder.
Now you need a tool to sign the apk file that you have recompiled.
Step 12: Sculpt a new folder again with the name “signapk” on your desktop.
Step 13: Download SignApk then you extract it to the folder you have created –the signapk folder.
Step 14:The new apk file in step 11 should be moved to this new folder in step 12.
Step 15: Open command window inside signapk folder then sign the new apk with the following command.
java -jar signapk.jar certificate.pem key.pk8 appname.apk appname-signed.apk
Note: Developer always create an apk file using Android Studio, the apk is signed as default. Note that as you recompile and decompile apk file, you need to do the signing to enable you install it on your Android device.
So you have to move the newly singed apk file to your device and install modded app. Again you can’t install without signing the apk file –Android won’t permit you to do such.
Create a new signed apk inside signapk folder. This is your final edited/modded app –you can rename it if you want to.
